The 68HC812A4 includes only a small amount of on-chip EEPROM and RAM, and is primarily intended for expanded-mode operation. It has a non-multiplexed address/data bus supported by page registers for Program memory (eg. Flash), Data memory (eg. RAM), and Extra memory (eg. memory-mapped peripherals)-- making it very easy to interface large amounts of memory and memory-mapped devices.
We offer four product designs based on the 68HC812A4 MCU:
- Adapt812: a simple, low-cost board with all support circuitry for the MCU. Memory consists of the on-chip 1K RAM and 4K EEPROM. Includes RS232 and RS485 interfaces. This product is suitable for entry-level use, and as the basis for custom designs. A narrow-mode (8-bit) memory expansion card is offered, containing Flash and RAM.
- Adapt812DX: an all-in-one combination of Adapt812 and narrow-mode (8-bit) memory expansion, featuring Flash and battery-backed RAM/clock/calendar. Includes RS232 and RS485 interfaces.
- Adapt812DXLT: similar to Adapt812DX (above), except without battery backup and clock/calendar. Includes two RS232 ports.
- Adapt812MAX: all-in-one design, including up to 4MBytes wide-mode (16-bit) Flash and RAM (optional battery backup and clock/calendar). Includes RS232 and RS485 interfaces.
